Turning the Tide: Recommended exclusions
UNEP Finance Initiative
Sectors covered in Turning the Tide include:
◾ seafood (wild-caught fisheries and aquaculture)
◾ ports
◾ maritime transportation
◾ marine renewable energy
◾ coastal and marine tourism
This exclusion list is divided across these five sectors and provides indicators of critical actions or behaviour and how to verify them. In addition, this list complements recent work undertaken by the European Commission in identifying unsustainable financial flows in the blue economy by offering financial institutions key indicators of such unsustainable activity.
