Ben Sorkin - CEO & Founder
Ben was formerly the Director of the Electric Propulsion Division at Navatek, a marine defense engineering firm. He lead electric and hybrid propulsion initiatives and launched the Electric Propulsion Group and Lab. He’s worked on government contracts to develop electric and hybrid drive systems across multiple platforms for the ONR and private clientele. Prior to his role at Navatek, Ben worked as a High Voltage Battery Remanufacturing Engineer at Tesla’s factory in Fremont, California. At Tesla his focus was on processes, tooling, and protocols involving remanufacturing and handling of Tesla High Voltage Battery Packs. He has been refurbishing boats and rebuilding antique combustion engines since he was 10 years old. Ben received a B.S.E. from Princeton University in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering with a Certificate in Robotics and Intelligent Systems and a Certificate in Sustainable Energy.
Daylin Frantin - COO & Co-founder.
He previously worked as an Equity Research Analyst at Manhattan Venture Partners in NYC. There, he performed rigorous due-diligence activities to evaluate pre-IPO venture backed companies in the TMT sector. He has extensive experience modeling private technology companies using macro-driven valuation criteria to vet investment attractiveness. He often created client teasers summarizing MVP’s compelling portfolio of late-stage companies in the growing secondary direct market and assisted the company’s Head of Research and Chief Economist in publishing sector reports and updating the internal liquidity-watchlist. Growing up, Daylin was an avid boater and has spent significant time servicing boat engines. He received a B.S. from Boston University in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Accounting.
Jonathan Lord - CTO & Co-founder
He has experience as an Electric Propulsion Engineer at Navatek, a marine defense engineering firm, where he was responsible for the research, development and analysis of novel mechanical and electrical systems applied to DoD applications within the scope of electric propulsion. He led the design and construction of a full-scale propulsion test rig used for system optimization of mechanical structures and thermal systems. He has prior experience at Voodoo Manufacturing as a Factory Operations Engineer where he collaborated to develop an intelligent IOT software system to analyze factory wide performance and efficiency. Jonathan began to notice the sustainability issues surrounding outboard motors while rowing for Princeton’s Varsity Team. At Princeton, Jonathan received a B.S.E. in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering with a Certificate in Robotics and Intelligent Systems.
