eOceans was founded with the belief that future oceans can teem with life — being radically more exciting and valuable than they are today — if we make faster and more collaborative discoveries.
Ocean science needs to keep pace with rapidly changing business, society, and ocean change. eOceans is building the platform (software) to make this happen.
eOceans evolved from various research projects including eShark, eManta, Great Fiji Shark Count, Global Marine Conservation Assessment, and the Shark Sanctuary Evaluation.
This work has provided important scientific insights and policy outcomes -- like providing the study that was used to get manta rays on the endangered species list. Summaries of some of this past work are shown on the IMPACT page — click to read the papers and learn more!
